A History of Beer
The Yaletown Brewing Company is Vancouver's original brewpub. It was founded in 1994. It is located in the former warehouse district of Yaletown, as it was just starting to emerge as a destination for businesses and residents. The YBC set out to be a true neighbourhood pub. It is a welcoming gathering place for business meetings or casual get-togethers. Despite changes in the Yaletown neighbourhood, the Brewing Company is still its premiere destination for excellent beers, tasty menus and relaxed good times.
A Peek Inside
The Yaletown Brewing Company features a 160-seat restaurant and a lively pub. It also has TVs, pool tables and a fireplace. Customers stop in for everything from big corporate events to quick after-work beers. In addition, the YBC has large patios where customers can sit, eat and enjoy the neighbourhood atmosphere during the warmer months.
Brewskies and Ales
The Yaletown Brewing Company has won many awards, such as Best Brewpub in Canada. Yaletown offers a wide selection of beers, stouts and ales. Some of these are brewed onsite, such as Red Truck Ale, Downtown Brown and Yaletown Lager.
Famous Food
The lunch menu at Yaletown features North American and ethnic fare. Starters, soups, curries, noodles, bowls, 12-inch pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, a wrap and take-out lunch boxes are all available. Items include fried artichoke brochettes, classic Caesar salad and fire cracker green beans. Also try their spaghetti and beer braised meatballs, 6-oz flat-iron steak sandwich, or barbeque chicken pizza. For dinner, most of the lunch menu items are available, with larger-sized entrées than those on the lunch menu. Plus, they offer steaks, fish and chicken. Try their 10-oz New York steak, cedar plank wild BC salmon or red truck lager battered halibut and chips.
