It's the way to go if you're looking to bypass the parking lot better known as Highway 1. The West Coast Express is a comfortable, premium commuter rail service for the eastern suburbs reaching as far out as Mission. Leave the gridlock, road rage and stress behind. This service gets you to and from work or wherever you need to go - both comfortably and affordably. The Capriccio Cappuccino bar onboard all trains allows commuters to pick up a quick snack or warm beverage on cold days. Relax or catch a few extra winks in the generous upholstered seats. The upper level of each car has seats with worktables - perfect for passengers to use their laptops on the way. Spacious washrooms are available on the trains.
Piecing it all together
Linking together Vancouver with Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge, Port Haney and Mission, West Coast Express operates Monday through Friday during peak periods only - running every half-hour. Park & ride lots at all stations, except Waterfront and Port Haney, make it even more convenient for riders to get around. Customers with special requirements, including those in wheelchairs, scooters and strollers will be helped onto the boarding ramp by a station staff member. Most train cars have two wheelchair spaces and accessible washrooms.
Other Services
There is a Group Travel program that enables groups of six or more to pre-pay for travel together. This is popular among school, seniors’ and community groups especially since they get unlimited free transfers to SkyTrain, SeaBus and city buses.
