Inside VIVO!
Take a break from the frozen food aisle and head to this delightful ice cream parlour, located at a busy strip mall just off Highway 99. VIVO! Gelato has the warm interiors of an Italian café, with dappled yellow walls, terra cotta floors, brass scone lighting and heavy tiled table tops. Its wide selection of gelati and sorbetti make for good kiddie treats and tasty adult-size desserts. Its ice creams don’t just come in cups and cones either. Gelato cakes are available, sized from eight to 10 inches, or choose your own quantity, which staff will pack in styrofoam containers for the road.

Vivo! Freshness
Unlike commercial ice cream, VIVO! Gelato whips up artisan-style gelato in small batches, using all-natural ingredients and without preservatives. It doesn’t use heavy cream commonly found in North American ice-cream. Ice cream flavours include traditional favourites like After Eights (chocolate and mint), rich Aztec chocolate, and French vanilla, as well as more adventurous selections like licorice, s’mores, even beer. Its sorbetto, which skips the milk but is churned slower and longer to create a creamy texture, highlights fresh fruits like strawberries, apricot, green apple as well as tropical offerings like kiwi, mango and calamansi, the Philippine version of lime.

VIVO! Plus
For those wanting something to quench the thirst, VIVO! has plenty of icy blended drinks in a variety of creative flavours. Try the Japanese matcha green tea, or the strawberry blonde, liberally drizzled with caramel. If you want a caffeine fix, the Caffe Fredezza or Mocha Bacio, which comes an extra kick of espresso, are highly recommended. Teas, too, are more exotic than the regular fare, with Asian-inspired flavours like taro tea latte, lychee tea latte, and thai coconut. VIVO! also serves a variety of sandwiches on warm, herb-baked foccaccia. Vegetarian selections available.
