Calling All Fanatics
If you have a passion for one-of-a-kinds, knick-knacks, treasures, collectibles and junk, you’re knocking on the right door at the Vancouver Flea Market. We all know that one man’s junk is another man's treasure, and nowhere is this saying more apt than at the Flea Market on Terminal Avenue, just off Main Street. What does it look like? Easy: imagine a colossal garage sale under one single roof. Here, energetic sellers hawk their wares while enthusiastic buyers search the stalls for deals, bargain buys and unique finds. Needless to say, the merchandise is eclectic. The 350 tables of the market display second-hand treasures: furniture, household items, linens and clothing, cutlery and vases, handicrafts, decorative art, toys and books.

Rain or Shine
Opened in 1983, the Vancouver Flea Market is the largest covered market in the Lower Mainland, ensuring bargain hunting goes on rain or shine. Picture yourself a giant yard sale, only bigger and better, not to mention sheltered. The market is only a few minutes outside downtown Vancouver, about a five-minute walk away from the nearest Skytrain station. Every week-end, it attracts thousands of bargain hunters and vintage lovers. Dealers, sellers and buyers wheel and deal inside the big red barn where you can browse for unusual gifts, unearth treasure, and revel in kitsch. The Flea Market also holds regular antique and collectable shows.

Tips for All
It is better to come early as the best buys are to be made early in the morning. Bring cash, which is the only payment mode, and quality foot wear for a comfortable hunt. An admission fee is in effect, except for children twelve years old and under. Have a snack at the onsite Cafeteria. Sellers should know that bookings for tables are scheduled a week in advance.
