Vancouver Donair may have a small menu, but you’re sure to leave satisfied. The Middle Eastern fast food joint serves up generous donairs with chicken, beef or both, as well as falafels. The Mexican donair is especially popular, and comes with fresh jalapenos, mushrooms and cheese. If you want to beef it up a little, you may also want to opt for the “super” beef donair, which comes with extra meat and cheese. There’s also a combo dish that comes with chicken or beef, rice, vegetables and pita. You can wash it all down with a cold drink of pop or juice from the extensive selection. Vancouver Donair is easy on the wallet, with nothing over a tenner!
Freshly made before your eyes
Vancouver Donair makes meals before your eyes. There are three marinated slabs of meat rotating on vertical skewers behind the counter where fresh slices are taken as orders are placed. Fresh veggies add a little crunch and generous amounts of tzatziki and hot sauce bring the flavours together. Extra meat, cheese and veggies are also available at a nominal charge. The service is friendly and the “donair artists” are always happy to take special requests, from the cut of meat to the amount of lettuce.
Colourful, comfortable surroundings
Vancouver Donair is a great place to grab a quick bite to go, or sit down and enjoy a meal while perusing the paper or watching the news on TV. There’s an L-shaped bar with seats for about half a dozen inside, but take-out is popular with so many parks in the area. The eatery has a welcoming vibe and is bright from the inside out with a multi-coloured tiled exterior and rainbow décor on the inside. Bold art adorns the yellow and orange walls and a sign declaring “Everybody says it’s the best in town!” hangs proudly.
