Just Big Enough
The Toybox is Vancouver's largest independent toy retailer. While this means that the selection here is extensive, the store is far from intimidating. Step inside, especially during peak seasons, and the atmosphere within is friendly and bustling. The display area is larger than most boutiques in the neighbourhood, but not so big as to get lost in. When in doubt, the various categories of toys are helpfully labeled with signage.

Quality and Selection
The merchandise at the Toybox is centered on traditional, quality toys. So while video games or other electronics aren't visible, virtually anything else is. Building toys like Lego and Playmobil, model vehicles, dolls and stuffed animals are all available, and more. Check out the wall on one side of the store, dominated by a huge selection of board games and puzzles. There's a lot to see here, and you just might find something you hadn't thought of when you walked in.

Community Boosting
Besides the merchandise, The Toybox stands out for its commitment to being a community-minded business. At the rear of the store is a play area for the kids, offering a rest from shopping. And while gift-wrapping of purchases is complimentary year-round, for the last several years during the holidays the service has been by donation, with the money going to local charities. As a further community service, The Toybox also offers a discount on purchases to non-profit organisations, such as schools and daycares.
