A full service hotel, spa, resort and conference centre, the Tigh-Na-Mara is bordered by 22-acres of forest and the sandy beaches along the Straight of Georgia. There are 192 Fir and Cedar log-cabin-style guest rooms available including spa bungalows, ocean view suites and authentic stand-alone log cabins. Despite the rustic nature of the accommodations, each room features a host of modern amenities and many include kitchens, wood burning fireplaces and Jacuzzi tubs.
Canada’s Warmest Waters
The sandy beach that lines the property gives way to Pacific Ocean tidal pools that can heat up to 25 degrees Celsius in the summertime – the warmest ocean waters in Canada. But while Ocean swimming can be the highlight of any trip to the Tigh-Na-Mara, the resort offers much more. Mountain biking, kayaking, whale watching, golfing, horseback riding, clam digging and hiking are just a few options. The nearby Horne Lake Caves and Milner Gardens are great to explore. Onsite, guests will find an indoor swimming pool, whirlpool, steam room, fitness facility and tennis courts. Meanwhile, those looking for a little pampering will enjoy the 20,000 square-foot Grotto Spa. The largest resort spa in British Columbia, The Grotto features a 2,500 square foot mineral bath with a two-storey waterfall, 17 treatment rooms, three spa suites for two, a relaxation lounge, a manicure and pedicure room and the Treetop Tapas & Grill.
Conference Centre and Full Service Dining
The resort is also home to a full service conference centre including 12 private rooms available for meetings, banquets, and weddings. For breakfast, lunch and dinner, The Cedar Dining Room on-site features West Coast cuisine in a comfortable setting. The attached Copper Lounge is also a great place to grab an appetizer or cocktail. It was 1946 when the Tigh-Na-Mara property saw its first log cabin built and while the resort and the property have changed hands a few times since then, guests will see clearly why the spot was chosen. Tigh-Na-Mara is Gaelic for “House by the Sea” and each of the Tigh-Na-Mara’s 192 log cabin rooms is truly its own perfect little house by the sea.
