The Menu
Stepho's serves good, traditional Greek fare, but it's the portions and price that people line up for. The ever-popular souvlaki comes with heaping portions of roasted potatoes, rice, and fresh Greek salad that's thankfully been sprinkled with feta rather than drowned in olive oil. For the carnivore, there's no lack of chicken, beef or lamb on the menu. The pita bread is thick and golden, but keep in mind that the tzatziki will have you remembering your meal for days to come.
The Scene
The popular West End restaurant holds a wide appeal and is always busy, but never crowded. Multi-coloured plastic tablecloths, healthy potted plants, and scenic pictures of Greece adorn the dimly lit interior. The line up to get in looks daunting as you approach but it moves quickly enough, and for those too hungry to wait, take-out is always an option.
The Wine List
The list offers a few Greek wines, but let's face it, it's the ouzo not the wine that Greece is famous for. Not to worry, that licorice treat is indeed included on the extensive list of liqueurs.
