Downtown Landmark
St Andrew'sWesley United Church is a landmark in downtown Vancouver. Located near bustling Davie Village, Robson Street, the financial district and Yaletown, the church's central location makes it hard to miss. Constructed in 1933 and boasting gorgeous stained-glass windows and a Gothic design, this heritage building is not only a piece of Vancouver history, but remains a lively place of worship today. It also serves as a venue and meeting-place for the wider community.

Facilities for Any Group
The church facilities have been put to a variety of uses since they were first rented out to non church-related groups for events in the early 1990s. With the main Sanctuary capable of holding up to 1,200 people, a smaller chapel with room for 100, and side rooms that can hold smaller gatherings up to a further 100, St Andrew'sWesley has the capacity for virtually any type of gathering or arts event. Kitchen facilities are available, and the acoustics in the main Sanctuary are ideal for speakers or concerts alike.

A Space for the Arts
Both LiveNation and Universal Music have brought acts like Bryan Adams and Billy Bragg to the church. Groups such as the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the Welsh Men's Choir have used the building, and various forums and lectures are often hosted there as well. And the church is in demand not just for its facilities, but for its aesthetics. Scenes from films and television have been shot within the building, including some from the movie X-Men 3, and the TV series Smallville. It's not hard to see why!
