Make sure you stop at Squamish Station on your way to or from the city or resort. Just off Highway 99 and half way between Vancouver and Whistler, the shopping centre is a great place to take a break from the busy streets. Whether you want to do your groceries, look for some new clothes for the chalet, have a bite to eat or just stretch your legs — you’ll be happy you stopped.
Hungry commuters will drive away happy after a stop at Squamish Station. There are plenty of different options to satisfy all cravings. Fast-food choices include A&W, Taco Del Mar and Little Caesar’s Pizza. Healthier folks can visit Quiznos for a veggie-filled sub sandwich or Heath Food Heaven for some high-energy and organic snacks. The full-service IGA grocery store also offers a host of ideas for quick meals, including fresh choices from the deli. And if all you need is a liquid pick-me-up, stop by Starbucks for a host of espresso drinks and sweet treats.
After you have refueled with a satisfying meal from one of the many reputable eateries, it’s time to do some shopping! Catering to the mountain crew, shops like Valhalla Pure Outfitters and Mark’s Work Wearhouse stock sportswear, outdoor gear and fitness fashions for men and women.
If you feel like taking an extra-long break at Squamish Station, you can rent a bike from Corsa Cycles and go for a ride through some of the best trails in North America. You may get hooked on the sport, but the good news is Corsa also sells bikes. If your destination is close to the mall you can rent a blockbuster at Movie Galley and have a relaxing evening with candy and popcorn. If you need to clean up before arriving at your destination, a haircut and styling at Great Clips can help. And finally, keep the kids happy with a visit to Bosley’s Pet Shop to look at some cute furry friends!
