With its two lines of rapid light rail service, SkyTrain provides its passengers with a comfortable, environmental ride away from the hassle of traffic. Jump on the SkyTrain if you wish to be whisked away on a special route which travels both elevated and underground. SkyTrain is also one of the safest rapid transit systems in the whole world. No driver’s on board? Well noticed but don’t worry: the four-car trains are fully computerized and depart about every five minutes. Wheelchair accessible, SkyTrain has two distinct lines of service for its passengers, which are Expo and Millennium. Both lines operate to – and from – downtown Vancouver between 5 a.m. and midnight.
Expo Line
The Expo Line operates from Waterfront Station (downtown Vancouver) to King George Station (Surrey) and runs along a scenic 28-km track that covers Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster and Surrey. With a travel time of about 40 minutes, the SkyTrain connects its passengers with other transit services from the Lower Mainland.
