An attractive setting of handsome wood and brick with a large window overlooking the street welcome you at the Sitar. Indian rugs draped on the walls add to the look. About 80 people can tuck in nicely at this Gastown mainstay. Drop in or reserve, Sitar is open from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. everyday. This licensed establishment offers a huge selection of North Indian dishes; you'll want to return time and time again.
A History of Indian Food
Around since the early 1990s, they are specialist in both meat and vegetarian dishes of India. Here you will find tandoori, vindaloo, biriyani and korma. The vegetarian selection is impressive with bhurta, chana mushroom, and bhindi bhaji.
Known For Their Butter Chicken
The Tandoori dishes include chicken, fish and lamb and are served with pillau and papad. They also have goat masala, and shahi kofta - Indian style beef balls cooked in spicy sauce.
