Choc-a-Block with Art and Events
Nicknamed the “best little gallery on the North Shore”, the Seymour Art Gallery has the accolades to back up its reputation. The gallery was recognized with a Business Excellence Award by the North Shore News. The same newspaper also named the gallery a North Shore favourite several years in a row. The gallery exhibits monthly shows and during summer months aspiring young artists ages seven to 12 participate in weeklong art camps at the Seymour. Night classes such as yoga and knitting also pepper the gallery’s schedule. Tour (school and tourist) groups are encouraged to visit but must always book first.
Take-Home Art
Seymour Art Gallery also includes a gift shop, where many past, present and future exhibiting artists sell their wares. Paintings, photography, pottery, jewelry and art cards are all sold at the “Treasure Cover Gift Shop”. Members receive 10 per cent off all purchases. Twice a year (Fall and Spring) the Seymour Art Gallery hosts a gallery fundraiser including a silent auction with many exciting items to bid on.
