Seriously Fresh and Tasty Coffee and Snacks
Serious Coffee prides itself on serving up the freshest, most flavourful brews in town, which can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. From drip coffee to cappuccino to a shot in the dark, there’s the brew for you at Serious. The superior coffee can be enjoyed in the comfortable, modern surroundings of the shop, or at home, with more than a dozen kinds of beans for sale. If you’re not a coffee drinker, there are plenty of other options. You may opt for a premium loose-leaf tea, a super-healthy matcha, a slow-brew chai or a Mystic Temple blooming tea. In the warmer months, iced coffees, smoothies and Italian sodas are a hit. Serious also has its own bakery, where it makes fresh treats using only the best ingredients, and light meals are also available in the shop. Start your day with a scone, granola cup or bagel, or pop in for a quick panini and soup for lunch.

Local Company Committed to Quality
Serious Coffee is to Vancouver Island what Tim Horton’s is to Ontario — a highly recognizable and respected institution. Serious started in Duncan in 1994, and has since grown to include several locations across the Island. Serious imports beans from all over the world, accepting only Arabic beans — the best available. There’s also a focus on fair-trade and organic beans. Unlike many other coffee companies, Serious does not use flames to roast its beans, but rather uses an air roster, which ensures the coffee never tastes bitter or burnt. Serious takes its claim of having the freshest coffee seriously, subscribing to a just-in-time roasting method, with the roasting being done in Duncan just a day before it’s brewed in the shops.

Giving Back to the Community
Serious Coffee has enjoyed great success thanks to local fans, and so it gives back to the community by supporting a wide range of non-profit groups and events. From “celebration stations” offering free coffee during Bike to Work Week to supporting dry grads to entering a “bean team” in local runs and walks, Serious has done it all in support of dozens of causes. Community groups are invited to check out the fundraising package available online.
