A taste of Portugal
Senova Restaurant is named after Portuguese owner Manuel Ferreira’s hometown of Senova and stays true to his roots with a menu featuring all the best flavours of Portugal. Expect great Portuguese style seafood, theme nights where an entire suckling pig is roasted, the best Portuguese sausages, beef tenderloin, chicken and duck all cooked to perfection in the open kitchen inside Senova’s 80-seat dining room.

Suckling Pig Wednesdays
To start try the Portuguese onion soup, made with aged Madeira port and an egg. Named for the copper vessel in which it is cooked the Seafood Cataplana is a hearty maritime dish, brimming with prawns, mussels and juicy clams. Senova boasts a fixed cycle of daily specials that’ll you’ll want to plan your week around. Tuesday is Crab. Wednesday, come in for a bowl of Cosido, a sort of pot au feu, consisting of sausage and vegetables –– a great dish to warm you up on a cold, rainy night. Thursday the cooks at Senova roast a suckling pig, and serve it with Pommes Frites and salad. Sunday, of course, is Paella, Spain’s famous rice, saffron and olive oil staple, filled with seafood, sausage and veggies. Senova offers several daily specials, both at lunch and dinner, so there’s always plenty to choose from. And for those who just can’t decide, a tasting menu of three, four or five courses is also available.

Warm and Open Bistro
Senova looks and feels like an upscale bistro. Inside guests will find comfortable contemporary décor complete with granite tables, a fireplace, wood beams and a huge 34-foot bar crafted out of recycled wood salvaged from an old barn. Three quarters of the restaurant is walled by floor to ceiling French doors opening up to a 50-seat patio outside where guests can enjoy dining alfresco throughout the summer months.

Portuguese Wines
The wine list at Senova contains more than 350 different bottles; including a number of wines on special order from Portugal not available anywhere else in British Columbia. The list also features over 40 different BC wines. With its warm feel and delicious flavours Senova is truly a taste of Portugal right here in the City of Vancouver.
