Like wine, there are different kinds of ciders that boast different flavours and attributes. Sea Cider offers an exciting range of critically acclaimed artisan ciders made from its own certified organic heritage apples. There are about 10 different ciders on offer — from robust to delicate, and still to sparkling, each bottle boasts a balance of flavours. All varieties can be purchased at the ciderhouse or ordered by the case online and shipped anywhere in Canada. Sea Cider is also available in fine restaurants and at private liquor stores around the Island.
Tantalizing Tours and Temping Tastings
Sea Cider is best enjoyed on a sunny day at the orchard and that’s why everyone is invited to visit the source of the sweetness. Guests are welcome to stroll around the scenic surroundings and relax with a glass of cider paired with organic cheese and other local delectables. Visitors can check out the ciderhouse, where the apples are pressed using the traditional rack and cloth method, and then enjoy a drink in the tasting room, which boasts long rustic tables, a vaulted ceiling and vintage chandeliers. On warm days, the deck is the place to be, where you’ll enjoy impressive views of the orchard and islands. Sea Cider is a great place to host an event and welcomes everything from wedding receptions to corporate meetings. Personalized classes on cidermaking, orcharding, cider tasting and gourmet food pairings are also available.
Family Business Dedicated to the Community
Sea Cider is run by couple Kristen and Bruce Jordan, who share a passion for organic farming, cidermaking and, naturally, cider drinking! The Jordans are dedicated to offering their customers the highest quality cider available and use only the best local, organic ingredients. Sea Cider is highly involved in the community and can often be found at local food festivals and charitable events. To further support local eating, proceeds from one variety of cider go to support Lifecycles, a Victoria organization that promotes local food security. Local artists also enjoy support, as they are invited to display their art in the ciderhouse and host an opening evening free of charge organized with the assistance of the Sea Cider event planner.
