Score On Davie was known for many years as Sugar Daddy's, but when new owners took over, they were striving for a look and feel that wouldn’t brand them so heavily as a gay bar, and they wanted something that was more inclusive of the West End's varied demographic. So in early 2007, they changed the name, the look and the menu. Gone was the dark, dreary environment, replaced instead with a bright, new look thanks to the uncovered skylights, lively colours and new wide screen TVs to play to the sports fans. Cozy fireplaces, a slick new bar and a covered patio completed the look, making Score an instant favourite with the locals.
Location, Location, Location
Situated in the heart of Vancouver’s vibrant West End, Score on Davie has earned a reputation for fresh and flavourful pub food, friendly staff and a relaxed environment, morning, noon or night. Several wide screen TVs and a healthy draft menu make Score a popular choice for locals, especially during hockey games. The new and improved patio is open year round and provides front row seats for the hustle and bustle of Davie Street. Regular drink specials, such as Martini Thursdays and Caesar Sundays, give you more bang for your buck.
Hungry for Change
While your favourite pub grub, such as the Bacon, Swiss and Mushroom burger or the Turkey Clubhouse, have been left untouched in all their traditional splendour, the chefs have also gone to great lengths to create a menu that is a balanced mix of traditional pub fare with some new twists. The Appetizer Platter is great social food, giving you the choice of five apps from their extensive list, with all the trimmings. There's also no shortage of breakfast choices, from bennys to huevos rancheros.
