Nestled among tall fir trees on West Saanich Road, Saanich Roadhouse Pub makes its home in a naturalistic neighbourhood in farm country. The design of the building fits right in with a stunning wood exterior, a 33-foot ceiling supported by thick wood beams, a spiraling staircase and a protected patio marked by impressive stonework. The décor is stylish and funky, featuring interesting artwork and cool finds like a 1949 Harley Davidson, bronze figurines from Germany and marble statues from Italy. Opened in March 2009, the pub has a grassy area in the back, which is slated to become a Texas-style barbecue and cater to corporate events and weddings.

High-end, creative pub food
You’ll find all the usual pub staples at the Saanich Roadhouse Pub, such as hearty burgers and sandwiches, juicy steaks, healthy sandwiches and finger food galore. The restaurant also serves fancier fare like rabbit, venison, duck and lamb. Everything is locally sourced and organic whenever possible. There’s even a garden on the acre property where fresh vegetables, herbs and edible flowers are picked moments before appearing on diners’ plates.
