Jazzing up the Food
Located in Kitsilano, this popular and intimate Italian eatery boasts a tasty Italian menu and jazz seven nights a week and twice on Saturdays. A favourite venue for big names and local musicians alike, the list of musicians who’ve played at Rossini’s is a long one. Local mainstays like Denny Clark, Ray Reynolds and Bob York are regular features and celebrity guests have included the likes of Diana Krall, Michel Buble and Charile Byrd.
Classic Italian with a little Southen Zing
The menu at Rossini’s features the standard pizza, pasta, chicken, seafood and beef selections at reasonable prices. A popular offering is the Chicken Parmigiana, a breaded chicken breast with mushrooms, cheese and a creamy tomato sauce. Rossini’s is known for its pasta, and there are 20 tasty sauces to choose from. A favourite is the Southern U.S. influenced Pasta Alla Creole, with Chorizo sausage, chicken and shrimp in a spicy tomato sauce. An extensive wine list boasts several varieties from Italy and closer to home.

The warm room, with its fireplace and dark comfy feel, gives the space a welcoming atmosphere – so no wonder it’s become such a home away from home for many of the regulars. A small group of diners have even formed a charitable organization based on the restaurant. Calling themselves Rossini’s Senate Club, their accomplishments include setting up a music scholarship at a local college in the name of the late jazz legend Linton Garner, a mainstay at Rossini’s.
