Profile

Hearty Québécois Family Fare
Situated on charming, cosmopolitan Denman Street, Rooster’s Quarters has been doing a booming business since it opened in the 1980s. The menu boasts a range of rib-sticking cuisine common to Montreal, at very reasonable prices. The accessible food, homey and casually quirky ambience—roosters everywhere you look—and friendly service make Roosters Quarters a good place for singles, couples and families alike. If you want to grab something on the rub, or can’t get off the couch, Roosters Quarters offers delivery and take-out.

When Salad Is Not Enough
There’s no getting around it, Roosters Quarters is a diet-free zone. The cozy restaurant especially prides itself on its rotisserie chicken and hefty ribs. Other favourites include traditional poutine (not the fast food kind), Montreal Smoked Meat sandwiches, “tourtière” and French onion soup. Foodie blogs and local media routinely give Roosters Quarters two thumbs up, citing the quality and freshness of its main courses and sides. The fries get great reviews. So does the dipping sauce for chicken. A few seafood dishes such as grilled Salmon Fillets concede to the restaurants west coast environs. You can wash down your meal with wine, beer or a cocktail from the fully stocked bar.

You Can’t Beat the Location
Located downtown, just a few blocks from Stanley Park, English Bay, Robson Street shopping and Davie Street’s gay village, Rooster Quarters appeals to tourists who don’t want anything too fancy. That’s why locals like it too.
