Profile Last Updated: October 02, 2008
Amongst the plethora of fine dining on West 4th, Room Eighteen has made its mark as one of the more casual spot to lounge, have a drink or share some good food. Open since 2005, this upscale pub caters to a wide age-range of people from couples with children to the singles who are craving an after-work drink. The Cheers-like entry (a few steps below street level) and the warm and inviting space have quickly made it a favourite for those who aren’t looking for an evening tangling with silverware.
Eat, Drink, Be Merry
With an extensive brunch, dinner and drink menu, Room Eighteen will leave your palate satisfied, and, more importantly, your thirst quenched. The excellent cocktail list offers many martinis, sumptuous sangria, mojitos and wines by the glass and bottle. Don’t forget to ask about the daily drink specials! Breakfast burritos, omelettes and French toast are brunch faves while dinner offers creamy pastas, striploin steak, savoury salmon and 18 flavours of chicken wings to choose from.
Place to Party
The fireplace surrounded by comfy couches balances out the hopping bar – complete with plasma TVs playing the most popular pay-per-view sports games. Every Monday is open mike night for budding musicians to take the stage. This 75-seat eatery can cater special events and holiday parties with a couple of weeks notice. It’s also a hotspot for Speed Dating (twice a month) and has been frequented by visiting sports and big-screen celebrities.
