The Scene
The Red Room on Richard's has a well-earned reputation for deep mixed beats with a fresh ethnic twist and a wicked mixed crowd of club goers. If you love electronic music and are looking for something more than traditional techno, this may be your place. Inside you'll see that this bar is all about shaking your stuff. The dance floor is huge and the booming sound system is on par with any in the city, as is the super-deluxe lighting system that really gets flexed on Saturday nights.

The Atmosphere
If dancing is not your thing, you can whittle away the hours playing at one of the pool tables, commandeering a booth, or lounging on the couches in the corner while enjoying the view of all the beautiful people dancing the night away. Rustling up a few drinks for you and your friends is a snap. There is one large island bar that thirsty patrons can assault from all angles. The more stealthy clubbers know that the quickest drinks are dished out by the friendly folks manning the bars on the perimeter of the dance floor.

The Beat
Self styled as the best place for live acts in Vancouver, The Red Room really specializes in house music with a distinct international flavour. No, not world music, but solid butt-shaking beats with a little bit of spice and a lot of variety. Thursday is driving techno and Friday nights belong to the college crowd looking for a little bit of culture courtesy of the South American inspired hip-hop. However, if you're really ready to party hard, Saturday night at The Red Room is the real showstopper. Saturday nights have a great reputation with their global house music, so show up early and stay late. Who knows, if you really throw down, you might keep the wheels turning until 4 a.m.? Come early if you don't want to wait outside, because there is usually a bit of a line-up after 11 p.m.
