It is the little attention to details that puts The Red Lion Bar & Grill on the tip of everyone’s list. This friendly hotspot prides itself by offering its guests the real Irish deal. Authentic stained glass from Ireland graces the interiors. Cozy fireplaces heat things up in the winter. And a mouthwatering menu features gourmet pub fare with an exciting twist!
Gourmet Pub Grub
The Lion’s medium-sized starters menu features your favourite pub fare transformed into gourmet masterpieces. Discover homemade shrimp bisque and large salads topped with poppy seed goat cheese, mushrooms and bacon. Prawns get flavorful swimming in garlic and vermouth sauce. For something different order the fried gruyere cheese crepe filled with marina sauce. In the summer, regulars dine on the patio and share heaping portions of duck and pistachio terrine and three pepper pate.
Sink your teeth into a massive sandwich or juicy burger topped with asiago cheese and Portobello mushrooms. Regulars swear the Lion offers the best beef patties in town! A handful of gourmet crepes loaded with spinach, scallops and shrimp also hit the spot. Order the curry chicken crepe with mango chutney. A braised Mediterranean lamb shank is cooked to perfection and comes highly recommended. Homemade pastas, crab cakes served with chipotle-papaya salsa, and traditional Irish favourites complete the menu. On the weekend early risers can’t resist this joint’s fantastic brunch. Savour smoked salmon and potato pancakes with basil hollandaise, gourmet omelettes, and steak with eggs.
Tip: Brunch on weekends from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
