Deep in the Woods
A favourite for visitors and locals alike, Prospect Point has made a name for itself with healthy servings of fresh, local offerings, friendly service and a stunning view of Stanley Park’s lush greenery. The location of the restaurant is certainly a big draw, with the fresh, crisp air giving your meal a picnic-like feel without the grass stains and creepy crawlies. Make yourself at home on their 175-seater patio, heated with a large stone fireplace, or opt for the serve-yourself section instead of the full-service area. From here you can take full advantage of the spectacular panoramic views of the Lion’s Gate Bridge from the highest point in Stanley Park.

Morning, Noon or Night
While Prospect Point has always been a favourite family brunch spot, they’ve also recently extended their hours to cater to an earlier breakfast crowd, offering a limited express menu beginning at 9 a.m., with their full service restaurant opening at 11:30 a.m. during the week and 10 a.m. during the weekends. Try the breakfast burger, with farm fresh eggs, Canadian bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato, or the Treehugger’s Omelette, a vegetarian’s delight, with heaps of tomatoes, red peppers, onions and mushrooms with sharp cheddar. And remember, any purchase over $20 lands each table or group a free Prospect Point tote bag from the gift shop.

Fare to Share
Most of the lunch and dinner items are on the pricey side, but the portions are generous and often big enough to share. If you’re looking for something to pick at, try the Lion’s Gate Nachos, the Smoked Salmon Plate (made with BC salmon), or a bucket of peel and eat shrimp. They have a full Salmon Festival menu and also have a wide selection of seafood chowders and salads, all made with local field greens and local seafood, and even the fish and chips are battered with a special recipe made from Granville Island Beer. They also have a wide selection of burgers, sandwiches, pastas, and even a Rocky Racoon’s kids’ club menu for smaller appetites.
