With its red and white tablecloths, terracotta tiles, photographs from Rome and a loud, jovial atmosphere, Presto Panini is the real thing. Since 1988, the restaurant has been serving up delicious meals and has a strong following of loyal regulars. The room is rustic, casual and friendly, and attracts plenty of lawyers and judges from the courts across the street. The small café serves up fresh meals quickly to accommodate the business crowd and offers value not seen at many places in the city. For those really in a rush, take-out is available, too. Everyone at the office will be very jealous of your piping hot, fragrant meal!
The impressive parade of paninis at Presto would have Italians in awe. The crunchy, flavourful paninis come with a variety of fillings in equal number vegetarian and meat-lovers. The Italy-imported prosciutto varieties are especially popular and all sandwiches come with Presto’s delish carrot salad. Homemade soups (minestrone and spicy ginger coconut) go great with the paninis, and orders of half a sandwich and a bowl of soup are available for those who like to mix it up.
While you could easily enjoy a different panini every day of the month at Presto, there are many more menu items well worth tasting. The pasta lineup includes choices of gnocchi, penne and linguini with a several sauce selections. There are also fresh salads available for those who want a lighter meal. There’s only one item on the dessert menu, but they do it right at Presto: tempting tiramisu.
