Italian Traditions
Portobello Ristorante owner Pino Milano and his wife Rosa have been around the Kitsilano area for more than 20 years and have no plans to leave. The exact address may have changed, but the great food remains the same. Now on West Broadway just a stones throw from Granville Street, the tradition continues inside Portobello’s small, but comfortable 40-seat dining room.

Best in Italian Cuisine
Because of its size and popularity, Portobello is the kind of place you want to make a reservation, but it’s sure worth it. The Milano’s have become famous for their veal, but the Osso Bucco and Chicken Scallopini should not be missed either. The restaurant offers a huge selection of pastas including home made Gnocchi that guests have been known to travel across the city to find.

Some Things Never Change
Portobello is an intimate dining experience. The small, but cozy dining room is decorated in a modern style with beige colourings and paintings from a number of local artists adorning the walls. Portobello promises a romantic table for two or enough space for a great meal with a group. Named the best Italian food in the city at its former location by the Georgia Straight, the food hasn’t changed at Portobello Ristorante for the past 20 years. That’s what keeps the people coming back in droves, no matter where the Milano’s move it to.
