Appealing to a young, high energy crowd, Pop Opera has been a very popular party place since opening in August, 2008. It is owned and operated by Donnelly Hospitality Management, which runs several of the city’s most successful clubs and bars. The club features high-end design, including multi-coloured tiled bars and pillars, asymmetric chandeliers, light-white leather couches, ambience-building lighting installations and images of pop icons. Two separate spaces are partitioned by soundproof smoked glass. One is big and bright, the other smaller and more intimate. Partiers are assured a safe environment.
Music for Everyone’s Ears
Pop Opera’s DJs spin a wide mix of contemporary pop, hip hop, R&B, disco, techno and Top 40 tunes. During Friday night’s Live to Air, sponsored by Vancouver’s dance music station The Beat 94.5, revellers get their groove on as several DJs spin some of the biggest beats of the moment and the recent past. Grand Royal Saturdays feature different DJs on both dance floors playing mashups, rap, funk, club and house. If you’ve got any energy left, you can finish off the weekend at Bottle Rocket Sundays.
The club’s main room contains three VIP areas, one with a sunken space and its own bar. Group bookings for office functions, wrap parties, corporate events and other get-togethers are available. The club’s staff also provides a bottle service.
Note: VIP Bookings Available, Bottle Service Available, Private Parties, Safe Environment.
