A Lovely, Peaceful Escape
Poets Cove is a premier luxury resort in Pender Island’s Bedwell Harbour. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, plus relaxing spa treatments presented with tasteful elegance, then this place will fill the bill. A fairly young facility, Poets Cove offers 46 units including 22 rooms in the Arts & Crafts style lodge, nine villas and 15 cottages. Cottages and villas come with two or three bedrooms, so make it a family vacation or a reunion with friends. In addition to the spa, there are other activities to fill the time. Guided cycling treks take in scenic island spots from sea level to Gowlland Point, or boat trips cruise the Gulf Islands, with one making a stop at Saturna Island Vineyard.

Located right on the waterfront, Lodge rooms feature a king-sized bed or two twins, glass-enclosed showers and soaker tubs, a fireplace, balcony and wonderful ocean views. Cottages and villas have living/dining rooms, two full bathrooms, fireplaces, en-suite laundry, full kitchens, barbecues, and decks facing the sea. There are two restaurants on site, with the Aurora serving fine West Coast cuisine, and the Syrens Lounge serving classic comfort food and seasonal specialties. The hotel also features a heated outdoor swimming pool and a hot tub.
Prime mooring
If you arrive with your own boat, Poets Cove has a full-service 110-slip moorage marina suitable for vessels up to 100 feet, and which is rated one of the best in the Western Hemisphere. It has a Canadian point of entry customs office for CanPass users. The marine centre offers gift-shopping opportunities at the aptly named Moorings Gift Shoppe & Deli (open May 1 to mid-October.
