Duck underneath the maroon and green awning and enter Pieces, a popular gift store in Steveston Village. Housed in one of the oldest heritage buildings on Steveston’s main drag of Moncton Street, Pieces carries elegant and tasteful items that wouldn't be out of place in a Yaletown boutique. Its warm interiors and professional, friendly service ensures a beautiful shopping experience. Whether you're looking for something for a child or an adult, Pieces will have the perfect gift that won’t disappoint.
Pieces' merchandise, updated regularly, is a great mix of modern and vintage-inspired items. Most choices are eclectic ¬— think fragrant French soaps, one-of-a-kind stationary, or the brightly-hued Lug bags featured on Oprah. It also has a great selection of hand-crafted “cottage style” placards scattered throughout the store, perfect to decorate the summer cottage with. Pieces also represents a variety of Canadian artists and stocks Canadian-made goods, including memory blocks by renowned local artist Sid Dickens (displayed beautifully on the wall behind the counter) and seasonal gift baskets by Vancouver culinary icon Lesley Stowe.
A Magical Corner
Tucked away in a little nook at the far end of the store is a delightful children's gift corner. Decorate your child's room with pastel-hued alphabet blocks, spice up meal time with a fashionable, easy-to-pack dining set with a matching sippy cup, or dress up your little prince and princess in cute designer doolittles. A tot-sized bed, distressed cupboard and vintage wooden prints, such as of a pink pram for girls and 1950s airplane for boys, add to the magic.
