Raising the Bar
Pearl has revolutionized dining on the beach and upped the ante for new restaurants to come. Gracefully opening its door to little fanfare in spring 2004, it didn’t take long to be a hit with critics and visiting celebrities alike. The Pearl formula seems simple enough: beautiful surroundings, outstanding food, impeccable service and a dedicated and talent team to pull it all off. Pearl gets full marks as the brainchild of restaurateur Nicholas Popoff. You’ll be treated like royalty at Pearl — from making your reservation seem like their most important business to slipping your coat over your shoulders at the end of a marvelous evening.

Class and Intimacy
The atmosphere at Pearl rivals that of the most stylish restaurant downtown. A horseshoe bar that’s easily the best place to get a drink in the city corners the ultra-modern dining room. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by what’s on the menu: a martini that mists, and a cocktail that makes noise! Pearl is an intimate room that seats about 70 people inside and another 18 on the patio when weather permits. Wood beams give the room a rustic, beach feel, but that’s offset by a snap of white linens, candle light and glass detailing with blue lights. The oceanic feel is a perfect setting for the true White Rock experience.

Marvelous Menu
The menu is focused on seafood and the cuisine is best described as “contemporary pacific.” There’s a six-course tasting menu (which can come with or without wine), a raw bar, various set menus ranging from $25 to $100 and a regular a la carte menu. The innovative chefs cook with the best local produce and sustainable local and exotic seafood. Pearl is big on wine pairings and the vino list is a source of great pride for the “wine director” and his “stewards.” The restaurant carries around 500 bottles and has won multiple awards for its list. You can finish your meal with a fantastic selection of cheeses with suggested wines and other “final indulgences” for dessert.
