Papi’s is located in the historic fishing village of Steveston, in the Steveston Heritage Market building. The area has a resort-town feel to it. Papi’s famous and popular monthly wine club meets here for excellent evenings of wine tasting and food pairing. Its dining room has a romantic candle-lit tablecloth service. The decor uses varying shades of burgundy that work elegantly well with antique chairs and drapery. In short, Papi’s offers good food and a delightful ambiance.
Italians Do it Better
Papi's offers award-winning cuisine. It serves lunch and dinner, with pasta, meat and seafood specials served Southern Italian style. House specialties are numerous. They include Rosemary Rack of Lamb, lamb ossobuco served over linguini aglio olio, housemade raviolis, and a 20-ounce Delmonico steak. There’s also linguini sautéed in a tomato-seafood stock and topped with two large grilled tiger prawns, and fresh-from-the docks seafood. Diners can also savour their in-house-smoked sunfish, grilled and topped with artichoke, tomato and cucumber salsa. Papi’s solid hits include multi-course chef's-table menus. It also offers 'fine dining' takeout. The special takeout menu is popular with locals, some of whom pick up their dinner at Papi’s several times per week.
From the Grape Vine
The wine club offers red, white and sparkling wines from all over Italy. Diners enjoy fine imported Italian and domestic wines. A three-course dinner is normally paired with matching wines. However, the restaurant's wine representative is available to provide you with an enlightening but pleasurable crash course on food-and-wine pairings.
