Profile

Charming English Atmosphere
Set back in a courtyard off of Oak Bay Road, this English-style restaurant is a hidden treasure. However, once in Oak Bay Village, all you have to do is look up and you’ll spot Palmer's Restaurants giant multi-statue display sitting on the roof. The scene from Oliver Twist depicts Oliver asking for some more gruel at the orphanage. Inside the restaurant, diners are welcomes by warm tones, lots of plants and plenty of natural light from the many windows that look onto the courtyard. The old-fashioned wood bar sits in the centre of the restaurant and diners can grab a few seats there and catch the soccer match on the tele, or opt for a more private seat in the dining area.

A Regal Night Out
Going out for dinner with a group and want to give the guest of honour the royal treatment? Make a reservation for one of Palmer's Restaurants premier dining spots. In the middle of the room, there’s a semi-covered booth called “The Avenue,” as well as a “Royal Box” in a corner of the room. These unique spaces offer privacy and something fun and a little different.

Fine Pub Fare
Palmer's Restaurant is a good place to share some snacks with your friends over a pint. From a monstrous plate of nachos to a refined dish of baked Brie and escargot to what the restaurant says are the best potato jackets in Victoria — there’s something for everyone. Stopping in for lunch? Try one of the deluxe sandwiches and burgers such as the classic Reuben, the “Vibrant Veggie” or the “Wooly” lamb burger. For the full English pub experience, try one of the classics like bangers and mash, steak and kidney pie, roast beer and Yorkshire pudding and fish and chips. There are lots of other meaty dishes and fresh local seafood. If you’re looking for a lighter meal, there are plenty of healthy salad options such as the Sir Lance a Lox and the Hail Caesar. And a must-have is the Palmer’s gourmet clam, shrimp, spinach and cherry chowder created by the owners many years ago and still a favourite.
