Located in the ritzy Hotel Grand Pacific, Pacific Restaurant boasts attractive luxury surroundings, but offers a relaxed atmosphere in which to dine. The smart-casual B.C. style of the restaurant is created through its rich wood accents, healthy plants and flowers, crisp white linens and warm colour palette. The Pacific offers all-day dining, and in the warmer months the terrace is a great place to take in the views and the fresh Island air. Live jazz piano in the evenings helps create a sophisticated vibe. Take in the tunes from the lounge area, where you can enjoy classic and contemporary cocktails. Sample from an extensive malt scotch selection and share a selection of small plates from the West Coast tapas menu or nibble on a decadent French-inspired cheese plate.
Pure Pacific Northwest Cuisine
The Pacific chefs are dedicated to serving diners the best of B.C., with a focus on fresh, organic and wild ingredients. The restaurant works with local fisherman and farmers to create healthy, exclusive menus that introduce visitors to the flavours of West Coast fields and waters. (The Pacific is also a member of the Ocean Wise program, which ensures sustainable seafood selections are made.) The result is tantalizing dishes like Quadra Island clams and mussels, Trial Island fisherman’s stew, cedar plank Pacific salmon and laurel cured Fraser Valley duck breast. Breakfast choices are based on free-range eggs and seafood salads and sandwiches are popular at lunchtime.
Exciting Events Put a Twist on Pacific
The Pacific is always trying new things to make dining an exciting and evolving event. For example, the restaurant introduced its version of dim sum in conjunction with weekend brunch, and plans a Chinese New Year celebration menu complete with tea pairings for the days surrounding the occasion. The Pacific also puts its own spin on traditional British afternoon tea every day, and hosts events like the Victoria Whisky Festival. There’s always something new brewing around the kitchen corner!
