One of the most popular coffee houses in all of Vancouver, the 50-seat Our Town café is a study in coffee house contrast. Set directly inside a heritage building built in the 1930’s, the café’s historic décor pays homage to its history. Akin to the coffee houses of the 1960’s, Our Town plays host to live music, story, poetry and word slam events throughout the week.
Healthy Alternatives
Putting aside the décor, live music and events, everything else at Our Town is all about the present and the future. The café features only organic and fair trade coffees from across the globe and the kind of lo-carb, vegan, sugar, wheat and gluten free alternative baked goods that are growing in popularity everyday. Our town has developed a solid reputation for some of the best Panini sandwiches in the city and you’d be hard pressed to find a better Vegan muffin anywhere else.
This place has it all
With its commitment to the planet and alternative diets, this is not the kind of stuff you’ll find at your neighbourhood Starbucks. Stop by to see when your favourite local artist will hit the stage or check the Georgia Straight for larger event listings. Plus, while you’re at it, you can try the fair trade coffee or healthy-alternative baked goods in a setting with direct links to Vancouver’s glorious past. The future, the present and the past, the Our Town Café has it all.
