The Oceanside hotel is a small family-friendly hotel in Vancouver’s vibrant West End. Dwarfed by surrounding shiny high-rises, the unassuming 25-room, 1950s building is a tip-off to the reasonable rates guests will appreciate. Rooms at the Oceanside are spacious; making the modest price even more of a bargain. One-bedroom suites come with full kitchens and basic cooking equipment. Guests who would rather not cook will enjoy the huge selection of restaurants in the immediate area.
No End of Things to Do
Summer sun worshippers who stay at the Oceanside just need to grab their beach towels, and stroll a short block to English Bay. Those who’d rather stay out of the sun can opt to sit under a shady tree and enjoy the people watching. Sightseers can grab their cameras and take a stroll along the nearby Stanley Park Seawall. The walk will take them by totem poles, swimming pools and the Vancouver Aquarium. Oceanside guests can also explore the lively street scene on nearby Denman, Davie and Robson streets.
Visitors who wish to stay at the Oceanside during the summer months should book several months in advance. Vancouver’s Festival of Lights fireworks competition and the Vancouver Pride Parade are especially busy times. Children under five years of age stay free. Special corporate and government rates are available and free wireless Internet is available in all rooms. Off-season rates are offered from October to May. Underground parking is available, as are pet-friendly rooms.
