Each weekend, almost 200 well-healed, late night hawks and hipsters gather at The Ocean Club. The dress code: upscale casual. As West Van’s answer to night life, The Ocean Club combines urban sensibilities (think live DJs, jazz and an incredible interior design), with fantastic locally grown and produced ingredients. For dinner, the clientele range in age from 25 to 60. Later, the younger crowd comes for dessert, cocktails and dancing. It’s a restaurant, dance club and lounge all under one roof!
Food Optional, but Not to Miss
Unlike a lot of other downtown Vancouver places with limited liquor licenses, you don’t have to order a crumb in order to precede an evening of drinking and fun at The Ocean Club . . . although, you would be missing out if you didn’t try the food. The menu is split into two elements: earth and ocean. From the terra firma, patrons can order plates of acorn squash tortellini or bison rib eye steak. Oceanic offerings include iced oysters to get you going. Halibut cheeks, with cardamom squash risotto, or seared sockeye salmon will sate your cravings. To end off an already great meal, the local pastry whiz and North American-renowned chef crafts desserts daily for The Ocean Club.
Late Nights, Crazy Cocktails
The drink list at The Ocean Club reads like the rap sheet of a wild night out. From the ‘under the kilt’ to the ‘lost Mexican,’ cocktails are fun and frisky at The Ocean Club. Each Friday, Saturday and Sunday the night owl set can go to The Ocean Club to get their groove on until 3 am. Eat, drink and be merry at The Ocean Club!
