Although legendary professional golfer Jack Nicklaus has designed over 150 golf courses around the globe, Nicklaus North Golf Club is the only one that has his name on the sign out front. When the course first opened in 1996 Golf Digest named it the best new course in Canada and the accolades have continued to pour in. Score Golf named Nicklaus North one of the top 25 courses in the country in 2002 and Golf Digest has given the course a prestigious four star rating.
A sight to See
A par 71 18-hole course stretching 6,925 from the championship Nicklaus tees, the course is a challenge for golfers at every level. But filled with a blend of blue and bent grass fairways, bent grass greens and surrounded by the Douglas Firs indigenous to Whistler, Nicklaus North is as beautiful to look at as it is challenging to play. The course played host to a the 1997 Skins Game featuring Jack Nicklaus himself alongside Fred Couples, Greg Norman and Nick Faldo and then again in 2005 with Canadian Pro Stephen Ames, Jack Nicklaus, Vijay Singh and John Daly.
