It’s all about the food
Vancouver has more Chinese restaurants per capita than any other city in North America. Some are great, some not so much. Usually people assume that the best places are in one of the metro area’s three “Chinatowns,” but they’re missing out on all the “best kept secrets” tucked away elsewhere. Case in point: the New Sun Restaurant. Nestled in the charming stretch of what is known as the Cambie Street Village, the New Sun looks like your run-of-the-mill Chinese eatery. Nothing fancy here. But it’s the food that counts, and the cooks really care.
Authenticity
Food bloggers and foodies who post comments on local forums have nothing but good things to say about the food served at the New Sun Restaurant. The menu offers a huge selection of spicy and non-spicy traditional Szechuan meat, lamb, pork, chicken, duck, seafood and vegetable dishes. Some favourites are the ginger chicken, fried won ton, won ton soup, almond breaded chicken and mixed vegetables with cashews. The New Sun offers a wide selection of Chow Mein, Chop Suey and Fried Rice dishes, plus several tasty appetizers. The curries, noodle dishes and satays don’t disappoint.
Delivery
The New Sun Restaurant offers free delivery and you can order ahead for takeout. The staff is very friendly.
