Morton's Steaks its Claim
The moment you begin your descent into the foyer of Morton's you know you are in for something a little different. If the black an white photos of super star celebrities and international power-brokers doesn't tip you off, then the richly appointed interior, immaculate white table cloths, and sharply dressed patrons probably will. With locations in all of Canada's major hot spots, and dozens more throughout the United States, Morton's of Chicago bills themselves as a premier steakhouse.
A Menu On A Cart
Perhaps one of the most unique features of this up-scale steakhouse is their signature tableside menu presentation. Once you're seated happily and secured a pre-dinner drink the show begins. Steaks, whole Maine lobsters and other main course selections, along with fresh vegetables, are presented on a cart rolled to your table, where the server displays and describes each menu item in appetizing and entertaining detail.
Vegetarians Need Not Apply
The core of the a la carte menu is consistent at all locations. At the heart of the menu is the 24 ounce porterhouse. Other favourites include the 20 ounce New York sirloin, and the 14 ounce double cut filet. There is also an ample selection of fresh seasonal veggies and an exquisite dessert menu. Of course, if you are not ready to dive right into a steak enjoy a slice of the oven fresh sourdough bread while perusing the extensive (if not a tad intimidating) wine menu.
