Mestisos has an ultra-modern feel with an immaculate black and white interior and chic décor that rivals that of any city spa for people. The retail and spa sections of Mestisos are separated by a lovely reception area where candles burn, dog paintings grace the walls and stacks of fluffy, white Mestisos-branded towels are on display. Owners can wait for their primped pet and leaf through dozens of pet magazines while enjoying a bottle of water, coffee or tea. The destination spa, which opened in December 2005, attracts pets from White Rock to West Vancouver.
Cutting-edge Services
The spa area boasts the most cutting-edge equipment for the fitness and finesse of your pet. Two treadmills and a unique AquaPaws hydrotherapy underwater treadmill system keep pets in tip-top shape. An exercise program can be customized for dogs of any size and level of fitness. Massages by a certified canine massage therapist or a reiki master can help calm your dog’s nerves, build athleticism and help sooth arthritis and joint pain. Pets are groomed with all-natural, biodegradable products and “stylists” can accommodate any requests. If your dog prefers to be washed by your hands, private, self-wash stations are available for use without an appointment. If you’re having a busy week, Mestisos offers a pet pick-up and drop-off services as well as product delivery to Vancouver locations. Cats are also welcome in the spa.

Mestisos has an extensive collection of treats and toys for your dog. From “personal items,” like breath spray and nail clippers, to items to enhance enjoyment of the Vancouver outdoors, such as lifejackets and a pet bicycle baskets. For stylin’ pups and owners, dozens of dog-carrying purses and jewel-incrusted collars and leaches are on display. A wide variety of organic and all-natural treats are available and the majority is made in Canada, B.C. in particular. Dogs can chow down on hemp protein bites and smoked salmon skins among many other delicacies. Doggies can detox too, with a big choice of supplements.

Mestisos hosts breeder rescue weekends, during which they help neglected and abandoned dogs find good homes. A series of educational seminars on a wide variety of dog topics is also offered.
