The Magnolia Hotel is visible from many parts of downtown Victoria. The distinctive green and blue tiling that decorates the seven stories makes an eye-catching landmark from many directions. But even though it is in the heart of downtown, steps away from shopping, arts and entertainment, transportation and the Parliament Buildings, the hotel still manages to be a quiet get-away on what remains a pedestrian friendly street.
Luxury Boutique Service
The Magnolia is all about service. The first thing you'll see in the mahogany paneled lobby is the Welcome Desk - unless you get tempted by a bowl of apples or toffee first. If your room doesn't contain everything you need, the concierge will soon provide it. Rooms come with amenities such as custom designed furniture, queen and king sized post beds, feather duvets and soaker tubs filled with Aveda spa products. Continental breakfast and a newspaper are part of every package and there are sleek corner rooms that feature floor to ceiling windows. Little wonder why in 2007, Conde Nast travelers voted The Magnolia one of the three best hotels in Canada.
Business or Pleasure?
While it's easy to spot the potential for romance at the Magnolia, it's also well equipped for business. High-speed internet and two line phones are available in all rooms. A conference room outfitted with cutting-edge technology is available for meetings or receptions, and several smaller rooms are available for break out sessions or smaller gatherings. Once the work is done, though, there are also the temptations of Hugo's Brew Pub, the hotel restaurant Sanuk and Spa Magnolia. The spa features Aveda products and technicians and offers a holistic approach - melding ancient wisdom with modern science - for the ultimate in relaxation.
