Little Earth Children’s Store carries used and new baby’s and children’s clothing and shoes, along with an array of products moms will love. Little Earth is run by moms, for moms (and their kids) and they focus on making the shopping experience easy and fun. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, with colourful walls, soothing music, and a small but joyful kid’s play area.

Think Local
An environmental and social awareness informs Little Earth’s offerings. There is the obvious environmental benefit of recycling that goes along with buying and selling second-hand clothing. However, the selection of new apparel, toys, accessories, and beauty/self-care products showcases local, often mom-run, companies, organic and/or fair trade materials, and natural ingredients. For example, alongside popular Robeez footwear, you’ll find slippers by WeeStep, a local Vancouver company. Other local lines include fig organic, Kubuga, and Peekaboo Beans clothes, Bugalug hair accessories, and Mama Goddess herbal teas and remedies, soaps, and even home birth kits. Since the store opened in 2007, it has become a place where moms can meet, whether expectant, new, or experienced. There is a small but growing selection of consignment maternity wear, as well as a selection of essentials for nursing moms including bras and pillows. The store also features a private mother’s room with a changing table and supplies, and a rocking chair for nursing mothers. In fact, moms out shopping in the neighbourhood have been known to pop in just to use the mother’s room. And that’s just fine.
