A Denman Delight
The West End has just gotten a lot more sophisticated thanks to La Brasserie. This intimate hotspot serves up tapas-size bites of delicately prepared French and German comfort food.
Room with a View
La Brasserie’s small but selective menu focuses on clean but colourful ingredients made from scratch. You can taste the freshness in every bite.
Reservations aren’t accepted here but if you come early, you can be sure to score a cozy candlelit table with a view of Davie.
On the starters menu discover piping hot onion soup gratinée and duck confit drizzled with red wine reduction. Foodies can’t resist the steak tartare made with the freshest raw ground beef in the city. Alsatian onion tart and shaved fennel salad topped with goat cheese complete a fantastic apps menu.
What a Pig
Exotic appetites can’t resist La Brasserie’s main dishes and for good reasons. Where else in the city can you find suckling pig cooked to perfect and served with house-made sauerkraut? Once you look past the tender pig, discover saffron-drenched mussels and free range rotisserie chicken with caramelized garlic jus. Not to be missed is the homemade spicy bratwurst topped with apple puree, sauerkraut and onion jus.
This restaurant also features a daily special that thankfully doesn’t change.
