Never even heard the word “kolachy” before? It’s time to be introduced to one of the best lunches in the city! Slightly sweetened bread stuffed with either savoury or sweet fillings make for a healthy and satisfying meal. A kolachy is the perfect grab-and-go meal.

The staff works hard to keep regulars happy with new flavours and twists on the old classics and they always deliver the favourites with consistent quality.For breakfast, try the popular “western” with sliced honey ham, scrambled egg, mixed peppers and cheddar cheese. You may be back for lunch, where you’ll have to choose from a more extensive menu. Meat eaters will love the steak and cheese or bacon dog variety. Vegetarians have plenty of options, too, with the classic Greek and the mushroom pesto. There’s even dessert! The traditional Czech recipe combines ground poppy seeds and brown sugar. Other sweet choices include apple and cheddar, apricot and cherry. Homemade soups, salads and chili are also available and combo meals will save you some cash for dessert!

While kolachys are popular take-out meals, they can also be enjoyed inside the bakery. There are half a dozen tables in the bustling shop and a few seats at a counter looking onto the street.
