If Vancouver is really "Hollywood North," then this must be our Venice Beach. This bustling beach attracts people from all walks of life. Buff, bronzed scantily clothed bodies are sure to make their rounds, but don't be frightened, even if you don't go to the gym everyday, you're sure to fit in somewhere amidst the mix of joggers, stroller-pushing families, sun-worshippers and your everyday loungers. Grassy patches above the high tide line are perfect for tossing the disc, the tennis courts are always packed, and the beach attracts volleyball players from all over the city.
Don't Miss Out
During the summer months, Kits Pool is open to swimmers of all levels. Almost three times the size of an Olympic pool, it is divided into lanes for the more dedicated swimmers and has a separate section for those who just want to cool off and splash around. South of the pool is the Kitsilano Showboat outdoor entertainment venue. With its backdrop of North Shore mountains, the beach side amphitheatre stages amateur performances three times a week.
