Kirin Mandarin Restaurant goes out of its way to redefine those stereotypes. The room is decorated in a post-modern, comfortable style, with a two-story-high dragon as a centrepiece. This is a fine dining restaurant which happens to serve Chinese food , service is excellent and prices are high.

Peking Duck, Saucy Seafood
Specializing in live seafood and some of the best Peking Duck this side of the Pacific, the menu at Kirin focuses on Northern Chinese delicacies. Scallops in Black Bean Sauce is a big favourite as is Braised Sea Cucumber with Prawn Roe Sauce. Dim sum lunches (think Chinese tapas) are very popular as well. Tea time treats feature Shrimp Dumplings as a classic favourite. Pay careful attention to the prices. Kirin offers the best, but you'll pay for it. Double Boiled Buddhist Delicacies Soup for example will set you back a few bills!
