Laid back atmosphere
Locals love Jack Lonsdale's menu, with its hilarious “history” of Jack Lonsdale - a 19th-century English bartender who came to Canada for the Gold Rush. There's always friendly banter between bartenders and regulars concerning the sports game playing on the big-screen TV. Here, a laid back atmosphere is the rule. A place where young and old alike flock to meet friends for a casual dinner on the sunny patio and meet new friends over drinks at the bar, Jack’s is truly the local pub of this North Shore neighbourhood.

Satisfying pub fare
Anyone who has spent a good amount of time in pubs knows how satisfying the food can be . . . especially after a night of draught pints at the bar. Jack’s, which opened in 1988, doesn’t disappoint, offering a short, practical, but mouthwatering menu of sandwiches, burgers, and other traditional pub fare, like shepherd’s pie and baskets of hot n’ spicy chicken wings, mozzarella sticks or beer-battered fish n’ chips. The menu also has a West Coast influence, with dishes like tempura-battered tiger prawns and fresh seafood chowder.

Flip the menu over
Flip the menu over to the other side for a great selection of drinks. There are numerous local, domestic and imported beers on tap and a pint is still fairly cheap at Jack’s - even if you decide to indulge in a Guinness or Kilkenny. The variety of Scotch is most impressive and the wine list offers great bottles from Australia and local vineyards in British Columbia. Different drink specials include martinis and other cocktails. Stop by on any night to watch the game on one of their televisions; impress the crowd with your karaoke; or laugh yourself silly at open-mic comedy night. There are also other regular live musicians performing on different nights of the week.
