Iguana's Beach Grill is just west of the pier in White Rock, with a good beachfront view from the heated patio. They serve generous portions of seafood as well as Californian, Mexican, and Italian cuisine, and the sea air magnifies hunger! They used to serve burgers but dropped them; still have bagels though, with salmon.
Appetizers include mussels in white wine and garlic sauce, pita chips with feisty feta dip, and Greek pasta salad: veggies, olives with a feta dressing. The famous Iguana Salad (contains no iguanas) is a tasty mix of garden salad with chicken breast, toasted almonds and mandarin oranges. Try the Fisherman's Hot Pot for a delicious seafood fix you won’t regret. Choose from the unusual pasta dishes and the usual steaks as well as many other eclectic options. Desserts aren't listed, which should mean they're fresh and innovative.
There's a whole lot of choice in beer, including a house tap: Iguana's Lizard Lager (made on Granville Island). Four house whites and three house reds are available by the glass, 1/2 litre and litre, and they offer other options than the regular listings of eight whites and eight reds. Margarita's, daiquiri's, Sangria and Bellini's are on the drink menu as well. Service is sit down or take-out; reservations are not required and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible.
