At the head of spectacular Howe Sound, midway between Vancouver and Whistler, is the little town of Squamish. Once just a sleepy logging community, it is now a bustling tourist destination. Located in the town centre is the very popular Howe Sound Inn, offering a warm and casual atmosphere with reasonably priced accommodation, good food and a house-brewed ale ready for sampling. Guests flock to the area for the abundant recreational opportunities including rock climbing on the Stawamus Chief, kayaking, rafting, fishing, golf, horseback riding, mountain biking and scuba diving.
Say it With Beer
Although the Howe Sound Inn & Brewing Co. offers a full range of overnight facilities, the Brewpub is probably the Inn's greatest attraction. It’s rated one of the best pubs for food and beer in the Lower Mainland. With its high ceilings, fireplace, double-height windows and quintessential BC post-and-beam construction, the Brewpub is popular with locals and visitors alike. The brewery produces no less than 13 ales, lagers, stouts, pilsners and porters, handcrafted with no preservatives.
All You Need
In addition to the pub and the North Beach Lounge & Grill, the Inn offers 20 guest rooms, 16 with a queen-size bed and a daybed, two with a couple of double beds and two with queens only. Sleeping comfort is ensured with cozy duvets. Rooms are individually decorated with wooden furniture and have scenic mountain views. They all feature modem connections, and photocopying and fax services are available. In addition, there are three meeting rooms, which can cater to groups from 20 to 90 people, and presentation and projection equipment is available. Guest amenities include a Granite climbing wall and a sauna to steam away those aches and pains.
