Mind you, once you cozy up in library-inspired lobby for one of the complimentary wine tastings – you may not want to leave. This can work to your advantage as often local wine makers pop by for tastings to pour for the guests. If you can resist room service and drag yourself from your comfy bed, there’s exceptional Italian food waiting for you downstairs. Tulio Ristorante picks up the torch and carries the warmth and richness of the hotel lobby into a cozy and well-appointed dining room with lower street views reminiscent of dining in Manhattan. The menu is simple, rustic and fresh. All baked goods are made in-house daily and Chef Walter Pisano makes good use of local ingredients. The renowned sweet potato gnocchi has earned a ferocious fan base with locals and it only takes one bite to understand why. Pasta dishes, seafood and expertly prepared meat dishes round out the menu and of course an extensive and thoughtful wine list accompanies the meal. Treat yourself to a killer dessert and cappuccino and if you can still walk – work some of that meal off with a stroll through historic Pioneer Square just a short scenic walk away.
